- 3.0 CheckIt NetOptimizer
-
- 3.1 Internet Tune Up
- If you loose carrier (your telephone connection) after logging in to
- your ISP and before the download begins the program will stop. To
- correct this problem stop the auto tune-up and restart it.
-
- Auto Tune-Up: When restarting for the first time, if programs are
- open that stop Windows 95 from restarting the automatic restart will
- stop. To restart Auto Tune-Up close the programs and manually restart
- your computer. Auto Tune-Up will then continue.
-
- Auto Tune-Up: On the Tune-Up Results window the figure for "Increase %"
- can sometimes be slightly different for two opasses that are displaying
- the same "After" value or the "After" value will be slightly different
- and the "Increase %" will be the same. This is the result of the program
- using the actual transfer rate to make the calculation. The values shown
- are rounded off for the display. The "Increase %" shown is correct.
-
- LAN Users: Using the Benchmark and Auto Tune-Up on a LAN during heavy
- traffic hours can produce inconsistent results. For consistent, accurate
- results, please run during times of low or no network traffic.
-
-
- 3.2 Benchmark
- The modem status lights do not function when using an older version
- of DUN (Dial-Up Networking).
-
- AOL Issue: " AOL Issue: If you have both an AOL dial-up and your
- computer is part of a Local Area Network (LAN) you will not be able to
- run Auto Tune-Up or benchmark your AOL dial-up until you disconnect
- (un-plug) your computer form the LAN and restart your computer.
-
-
- 3.3 Modem Clinic

- serial (COMx:) port modems. The modem diagnostic will not
- work with the following modems:
- - LPT Modems
- - USB Modems
- - ISDN Modems (except ISDN modems that emulate a serial connection)
- - Cable Modems
-
- The following modems have not been tested:

- If a manual tune-up is done without restarting then a benchmark is run.
- The settings recorded and returned via a double click will be those
- just set by the manual tune-up and not those that were actually used
- in the benchmark. The actual benchmark settings will be those in use
- before making any current manual adjustments.
-
- Password Errors: If you have an older verson of Windows 95 you may have
- problems saving your password. The password may not be saved or
- attempting to save it may cause a GPF error. This is not a problem with
- NetOptimizer or Internet Monitor. This is a problem in Windows 95.
